BlacKkKlansman is a biographical comedy-drama movie directed by Spike Lee which stars John David Washington (the son of Denzel Washington) who plays Ron Stallworth, the first black local police from the Colorado Springs who planned an investigation and infiltration about the white-supremacists organization called "Ku Klux Klan". The premise of the movie is based on the same memoir written by Ron Stallworth himself telling his early life and career as a policeman which set in the early 70's with heavy racisms issues about white people and black people. The movie also stars Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, and Topher Grace.
Racism has been a very big issue within our society and the movie pretty much focuses on that. Though the movie is set in Colorado Springs, Colorado of USA, other countries have this same problem as well. The movie conveyed a powerful message through the early life of Ron Stallworth and his struggles of becoming the first black policeman in the town. The movie entertained me with the amazing performances of John Washington. I sensed a Denzel vibe from some of his performances of the movie but althrought-out it was just really him stapling his name to be a solid actor much like his dad. I believe that he has a great future in acting and I can't wait to see some of his works. The movie also involved with undercover operation between Ron Stallworth and the team of infiltrating the said white-supremacists organization. This kind of a storyline can guarantee some chilling and intense feeling because as we don't feel safe for our protagonist of infiltrating an uncharted territory. I was expecting some kind of dark turnabout given by its premise but its tone was kinda lighter. It was indeed a lighter film to watch when tackling a very sensitive social issue and I find some of the scenes quite funny. However, the comedy side of it doesn't diminish the quality of the movie and the movie was still as powerful as it can be moving a very powerful message about racial issue against one another. This movie is indeed really good and I had a satisfying time watching it and yet at the same time felt some sadness with it. Partly because it's a very good comedy film that I enjoyed myself watching it, and partly also that this movie is a hard-hitting, thought-provoking movie that tackles about the racial prejudice of not just the old era but in our modern age as well and knowing that there is this kind of people that still thinks this way.

OVERALL
BLACKKKLANSMAN is a beautiful comedy-drama film due to the amazing direction of Spike Lee and the powerful performances from the casts. Not only this movie will surely entertain you but it also conveys a very powerful message. It's a rare feat of a movie to be both entertaining and a thought-provoking. I highly recommend for everyone to watch this movie. I feel that this movie is an important movie for everyone to watch. It's basically an eye-opener to everybody that nothing good can be gained if you feel superiority to one another or to one race. That kind of thinking can really messed-up you and this movie effectively carried that message.
