Glass is a superhero thriller film created and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. This film is a direct sequel to his previous films "Unbreakable" and "Split" in which the plot revolves around David Dunn/The Overseer who is played by Bruce Willis from the first film "Unbreakable" tries to rescue a group of teenager high school girls who got abducted by a man-creature called "The Beast" and all his other 23 personalities who is played by James McAvoy from the second film "Split". We also get to see a returning character from the first film who is Elijah Price / Mr. Glass played by Samuel L. Jackson and as this sequel's title implies, we may get to know more about his character and maybe, just maybe some plot twist at the end of this film.

The first film "Unbreakable" was okay. It may not be your typical superhero film that is a big-budgeted film with expensive graphics but I like its story and its plot twist at the end. The second film "Split" was really good. It was a suspense and thrilling ride which could never have worked out if it wasn't for James McAvoy's amazing performance playing so many personalities and the story behind it. If you're planning to watch this film, you may have to watch these 2 films first. The plot of the first and second film doesn't really have some connection to one another until the post-credits scene but this new third film has a plot that combines all the previous 2 films. I really dig this new sequel. Amidst all of the bad reviews that you might be hearing around this film, I must say that I really was entertained by this film. James McAvoy's performance was insanely good. I really hope that he gets so many recognition for his performance because he really deserved it. His performance was really genuine and not some overacting or over-the-top performance that could really throw you off. I really see him as a damaged, traumatic young man with these multiple personalities that he just can't control and I sympathize more of his background story due to this film. The way they connect and weave these 2 previous different films into this sequel was brilliant and I commend M. Night Shyamalan for coming up a story that has a very common and similar vibe involving around superheroes and yet was able to make a good story that is so original and grounded in reality even though it borrowed some mystical elements from the comics. All the guys did an amazing job with their performances playing their characters respectively but James McAvoy really stole the show for me. I really thought that I would be bored since the first film "Unbreakable" really felt slow for me but the pacing of it was really really okay. Though there were a few moments that kinda felt was dragging but it's not that big of a deal that affects the entire film. I also like the music scores of the film. It adds some intensity and suspense factor of its story and was used really well. There are some heavy and sad moments at the end of it which by the way surprised me at the end that they have gone that way. But I think it really fits well on this storyline and its ending wouldn't feel the same way if they had not gone through that.

OVERALL

GLASS is not really a pure superhero film like in the lines of all the DC and Marvel films that you have watched but Glass is somewhat an original film that has a thrilling, surprising and fulfilling storyline that borrows some elements from the superhero genre. I really enjoyed the whole film because of its story and also because of the amazing performances from the actors involved. Don't let the bad reviews hinder you from watching this film. If you want to watch this then go see it. Clear your expectation of it and just watch the whole film. If you didn't like this then its fine. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I may not be a full-fledged film critic nor attended any films school but as a movie/film fan, I really was entertained by the film and had a good time watching this one.
