Searching is an thriller film directed and co-written by Aneesh Chaganty. The plot follows about a father named David Kim played by John Cho who goes to find her missing daughter Margot Kim played by Michelle La using some of the social media sites to find clues.

This is the first time that I have seen a movie that is set in an entire smartphone and computer screen. I thought initially that I would be bored having this kind of way of filming but it turns out that this film is really that engaging and thrilling. The plot is about this daughter who went missing and we see it while this Father is searching for clues going through different websites and social media sites just to gather pieces of evidence and complete this puzzle of finding her daughter. It is an engaging film because as the Father goes through these certain websites to search for clues, you would also look for those clues that are shown on the screen and you would also formulate your own ideas on where is her daughter's whereabouts. This is a film that successfully engages the audiences with its story and it will certainly hook you in. I liked the execution of the story and the way they told this film in such a unique way also deserves the appreciation. It also has some touching moments right at the end of it and also emphasizes greatly on the parent's love to their sons or daughters which also kinda reminded me of the other hit thriller film "A Quiet Place". I liked that part cause it shows how vulnerable people are when it comes to their childen's safety. It is also a film that is very hard to predict. They carefully put these details on the film and as you go into each of them, it's really hard to put all those pieces together to get the final conclusion.

OVERALL

SEARCHING is surprisingly a very good intense thriller film with a very good story told in a very unique way. I got so engaged with its story and some scenes were super intense especially when the part slowly reveals what happened to his daughter. I liked the plot twist of it and as a film or movie fan who likes to predict the plot of the film, I didn't remotely expect that to happen. The film was really well made and if you like watching thriller films with a plot that is so engaging and emotional then I would highly recommend this one.
