It's a survival-horror film directed by Johannes Roberts which stars Mandy Moore as one of the girls who were trapped from a Shark Cage at the bottom of the deep ocean. The title of this film already gives the idea of how deep is the ocean floor that they are trapped and it's all about the survivability of the trapped girls on how they are going to survive with limited resources, air pressure threatening them and of course, big hungry Sharks. I just watched The Meg yesterday and I remembered that I have yet to watch this film. The recent Shark Film that I watched (except for the The Meg) would be the one with Blake Lively in it titled "The Shallows" and I truly see some resemblances between that movie and this one. 47 Meters Down setting involved around the deep ocean which added an intense atmosphere of the film. The vastness of the ocean and how dark it is added some intensity between it without mentioning that there are big hungry sharks roaming around. What I liked about this movie is the story of it which is grounded in reality and it's not just about the sharks killing humans. It's a story between the prey and predators and the prey are trying their best to survive and not be eaten by the predators in its habitat. It's a claustrophobic feeling that even though they're in a big vast ocean, being trapped in a cage without any idea of what else is out there in the open is just a really good set-up of a horror survival film. Being a small budget film, the looks of the sharks really looked good. The running time of this movie isn't that really long which I also think a good idea that they went that way. I mean, it would pretty much get boring if that was all the set-up of the film so having it short really fits their storyline.

OVERALL
47 METERS DOWN is a good horror movie that delivers a good amount of thrills and suspense. It's a good survival film that engages you to it and makes you want to cheer with the characters to survive. It's not what I will say a very very good film either but I would say that it really fits it billing of calling it a horror-survival film that is not too cheesy and not too predictable.
