It's a family-adventure film directed by Charles Martin Smith. The movie is based from a novel titled "A Dog's Way Home" which story involves around a stray pit bull named "Bella" who got lost from his owner named Lucas and traveled 400 miles to get back home. Bryce Dallas Howard provides her voice as the pit bull Bella and also stars Jonah Hauer-King as Lucas.
A Dog's Way Home is a very touching and lovable film. If you happen to own a dog or cat in your house or just a person who generally likes animal then this movie will really move you. I really like the lovely relationship between Bella and her Hooman. There story is quite lovely at first then drastically shifted into a tragic story of Bella being lost and Lucas who doesn't have any idea where his dog was. What the movie simply provides is the amazing adventures that Bella had to go through in finding her way home. The movie really feels like an adventure as you wander from one place to another with our Bella taking the lead. There are a lot of things happened to our girl Bella and you feel fear for her safety. You could say that there are moments from the film that feels cheesy but in a way, I wasn't really minding about it. You get so invested by Bella's story and you really want to know if she is able to return home. Other than the story about Bella and Lucas, there is also this lovely story about Bella and a wild animal that she took care of. Bella was also a stray dog raised by a mother cat and in a way, it's like she gives back to the poor wild baby animal who doesn't have anything and she kinda relates to her bad predicament.

OVERALL
A DOG's WAY HOME is a heartfelt movie with a lovely story about companionship, friendship and family. Shelby, who plays Bella from the movie was really brilliant on this film. Kudos to her trainer because she really was good in the movie and if there was an award for Best Dog Actor, Shelby would have won it. I like the sense of adventure of it and it's also quite an emotional movie which you would truly tearing up. I do recommend this film. I liked this film way more better than A Dog's Purpose. This film would surely bring you joy and tears.
