ACTION POINT (O-RVZ MOVIE REVIEW)

Action Point is a comedy film that stars Johnny Knoxville as DC, who owns an Infamous Amusement Park known for its notorious unsafety regulations of their rides. The premise of this film is about a man who owns this infamous Amusement Park and tries to save it from being owned by corporates and being legally sued by its unsafety regulations. Basically, this whole movie copy some elements from one of his famous works which are the Jackass franchise, known for its pranks and dangerous stunts held inside the big Amusement Park. Combined with some actual storytelling, it seems that they were trying something different here and I appreciate the path they were heading. Story-wise, it was great seeing his character battling between the importance of his Amusement Park and trying to rejuvenate his relationship with his daughter. It's those kinds of stories that really show some character development. My problem with this film is that some of these scenes rely on those jackass-stunts just to get some cheap laughs from us. I did laugh from some of it but you can really tell that they are doing it over and over again which I find quite annoying and boring. If they were selling this movie like a sequel from Jackass, I wouldn't mind having those dangerous stunts from the film but they incorporated some storyline to it and parts of those storylines hardly even focused on. If they could have focused more about a man trying to save his amusement park amidst of all the backlashes and lawsuits that he gets, it would have been a very interesting and dramatic storyline.

OVERALL

ACTION POINT as a comedy movie, I expected it to be a fun, light and happy film but instead, it's a movie with a thought-out storyline accompanied with wild and dangerous stunts for cheap laughs. There's nothing much this movie can offer. I don't recommend this if you like to watch a comedy movie.
