How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is the sequel to the How To Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) and will serve as the last installment on the How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy which started last 2010. It continues the story of Hiccup and Toothless as they discover the mythical dragon place called "The Hidden World" and along with it must face a formidable villain. The original voices return to this sequel with Jay Baruchel leading this film as Hiccup with America Ferrera (Astrid), Cate Blanchett (Valka), Gerard Butler (Stoick), Craig Ferguson ( Gobber the Belch) and F. Murray Abraham (Grimmel, the new villain of the film). All good things must come to an end and sad to say that the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy is one of the best trilogies that I have ever watched since The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It's a bittersweet ending that is a worthy conclusion to this epic saga. It's a very emotional yet epic adventure as they go along trying to find this mythical place where all dragons lived in harmony. As always, How To Train Your Dragon wouldn't be the same without Toothless. He is the face of this franchise and for this one, he's just so cute and at the same time just a bad-ass partner to Hiccup. This movie tells more of the growing companionship of Hiccup and Toothless. In terms of its animation, it’s a colorful world rich with mythologies surrounding around dragons. The animations were solid and the designs of the dragons were very detailed. In terms of the action sequences, I feel that it’s not much that of an epic scale unlike the battle sequences from the second How To Train Your Dragon film. This sequel’s villain for me felt like a weak link as they didn’t explain more of his background or provide something that would truly catch my full attention. Also, I just didn’t really like his motivation or his overall plan. The ending of the film was really an emotional one. Not as emotional as the first film but it’s a beautiful and at the same time a very sad ending.

OVERALL

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3: THE HIDDEN WORLD is an enjoyable time film and worthy of a sequel to the HTTYD franchise. The world is beautifully animated and there are a lot of bright colors surrounding this film. This sequel is a fitting conclusion to this franchise with full of emotions, full of laughter, and it is just an epic tale about the story of dragons in Berk.
