OCEAN'S 8 (O-RVZ MOVIE REVIEW)

Ocean's 8 is a heist comedy film that serves as a sequel and a spin-off film that continues the story after the Ocean's trilogy which was led by George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. This time around, we get a whole new cast with an ensemble of famous and iconic women actors namely Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anna Hathaway, Rihanna and many more. Ocean's 8 follows the same path of what Ghostbusters did when they release a new iteration of that film with all female lineups. We have Sandra Bullock spearheading this new version of the Ocean's lineup as Debbie Ocean, the sister of Danny Ocean who George Clooney played. It's a fresh new take and it's exciting to witness of how modern technology plays around the storyline of this movie. We get to see some awesome gadgets and amazing new toys much like we did from the last versions. It's a sleek film and I liked how they smartly plan the whole heist. You may overlook some scenes and you may wonder what's the relevance of that specific scene to the entire heist but then it all makes sense at the end once they reveal it at the end. The characters were also fully utilized and I don't feel any stagnant or feel any lacking of character development from any of them. To be specific, there is this certain character that truly surprised me with its progression. Storywise, it was good but not to say that it was the best storyline out of all the previous Ocean movies iterations. The first Ocean movie was still the best out all of these versions.

OVERALL

OCEAN'S 8 is a good heist film that provides some comedy performances from the casts. If you're a fan of heist films in particular, you may enjoy watching this movie. I'm not a very big Ocean fan but as a fan of this particular genre, it did its job of being smart and sleek and it has some significant surprising elements.
