Solo: A Star Wars Story is the second spin-off film in the Star Wars universe and is based on one of the iconic Star Wars characters, Han Solo. It is directed by Ron Howard with Alden Ehrenreich playing the titular character. It also stars Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover and Paul Bettany. During the production of this film, I've read that the original directors of this film left mid-way of the production and there were acting coaches hired for Alden Ehrenreich as his performance on the set were very bad and the directors behind didn't really like it. This film at the very start was a very hard project to pull-off especially when you don't have Harrison Ford playing the original Han Solo who made the character so iconic. This film could have worked if this was released a few years ago when Harrison Ford can still play this character. Alden is a great actor in his own right. I've seen him play from other films but it just that he doesn't have the charisma and wit of Harrison Ford. Han Solo is basically linked with Harrison Ford. There are some scenes that Alden was just trying to imitate Harrison's performance of that character and sometimes I found it okay or even cringeworthy. Donald Glover, on the other hand, was the highlight of this film. He plays Lando equally charismatic (maybe even more) and was for me the really best thing had happened on this film. Storywise, I found it so generic and the film doesn't really explore so much of the Star Wars universe. Some scenes really bored me to sleep and the color palette of this film is so dark which made this film even harder to watch.

OVERALL
SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY is one of the weakest films related to the Star Wars franchise together with the prequels. You either like this film (for different reasons) or may not but to me, I could ultimately say that this film is a "NO" for me.
