The Commuter is an action-thriller film starring Liam Nesson as Michael MacCauley who got caught up with a conspiracy set-up when a mysterious woman suddenly appeared and recruited him into that situation during his daily ride on a commuter train from work. It's directed by Jaume Collet-Serra who also directed "Non-Stop" & "Run All Night", both of which are action film in which Liam also starred in. Liam Nesson is no stranger now to action movies. He starred some previous heavy drama films before and right after his widely popular action film "Taken", he's been taking some action roles late even though he has aged a lot. He was in some really good films and in some really shitty films. This one though is one of them. This film was just so predictable and too cliche for an action-thriller film. It's so cheesy and cringy and so predictable that you can easily guess right away the next part of the film. It's not even a thriller film for my taste with zero build-up on the suspense. The plot is also vague that some parts of it don't even make sense. Although, I admit that Liam did a good job of portraying a challenged and conflicted man but it just wasn't enough from saving this film.

OVERALL

THE COMMUTER is one of those films that you can just easily watch and not fully invested by having to guess the central plot of the film. It's predictable, cliche and cheesy with forgettable and bland characters. It's hard to like this film mainly because of its predictable plot. That alone can really lessen the quality of a film.
