It's a musical-drama film about P. T. Barnum, a very ambitious showman that puts up a group of talented people for his entertainment show with each of them having unique appearances and skills. It's a movie about dreaming big, ambitions, friends and families from different shapes and sizes and love. I must say, the movie is colorful which is appropriate to the mood of the film. It's basically a story about from rags-to-riches accompanied with some of the amazing musical numbers. I initially downloaded two of their songs “This is Me” and “Rewrite the Stars” from Spotify and seeing this in the movie with well-choreographed sequences really gave me Goosebumps.

The musical side was without a doubt the greatest portion of this film but in the story department, this movie really suffers from that. It is so quick that some of the character’s development were just neglected and poorly delivered. This is still a well-made colorful film but it kinda focuses way too much on its musical side that it sometimes forgets the very fundamental of a film which are its story and the characters. As much as I’d like not seeing him retiring the claws, I’m kinda excited about the other works that he will get post-wolverine career. He did an amazing job on this film. His performance is the spirit of the film. The way he acts, sings and dances, it just shows how happy he was making this passion project of his.

OVERALL
THE GREATEST SHOWMAN is still an enjoyable movie. The story wasn't that well fleshed-out and some of the characters didn't have so much character development but it is still a fun film filled with colorful costumes and sets and catchy songs. I like the songs here and some of them really made it into my playlist. It's a film definitely worth watching with your family but don't expect too much with the story of it.
