THE PREDATOR (O-RVZ MOVIE REVIEW)

The Predator is a sci-fi action comedy film, a fourth installment from the Predator franchise and follows a story of a group of PTSD-afflicted soldiers who must fight an invading alien species called "The Predators". This is directed by Shane Black who directed Iron Man 3 and stars Boyd Holbrook (Logan) , Olivia Munn (X-Men Apocalypse) , Sterling K. Brown (Black Panther), and various talented actors. I liked to explore more of the entire universe of the Predator franchise. This movie tries to expand that by creating this newest take of the Predator. The movie has some humor. I had some good time laughing at some of its jokes. It has some sweet action sequences and gory effects. If you don't mind seeing arms or legs getting chopped to pieces then you're fine with this one. I liked the first half of the film. The pacing was fine, the build-up of the story was also fine but then it kinda lost me at the end of the film. They were trying to build up something that for me wasn't exactly the route I was looking for. I didn't like the twist at the ending. It just feels like a rip-off of what we've already seen from other famous movies. Some of the characters were okay and some of them were just forgettable. They were underutilized and I just didn't feel any connection between them except Boyd Holbrook' character, the lead.

OVERALL

THE PREDATOR wasn't that bad and it wasn't that really good either. I did enjoy myself due to its more of comedic tone but I was hoping for a dark and deeper take on the Predator storyline. I wouldn't mind a sequel of it cause they are really going into a different direction and I want to see more of it as long as the new story is good.
