TRUTH OR DARE (O-RVZ MOVIE REVIEW)

Truth or Dare is a horror-suspense thriller film that tells a story of a group of friends playing the game "Truth or Dare" while in a vacation from Mexico. Litte did they know that the game that they were playing will hunt them down back to their home and refusing to play this game will result in a deadly consequences. To tell you the truth, no pun intended. I found the overall premise of this film quite intriguing. Although this is having the same similarities between the other film titled "Nerve" which also surrounds around the social media challenge of playing a "Truth or Dare" game, something like this combined with a supernatural feel really brings a unique and interesting feature of the game itself. On paper, this would have been good but after watching this film, it's one of those generic horror films with cliché storyline and questionable ending. The characters never really felt so impactful and I was really hoping that something from them could end up an even smarter plan of defeating the game rather than the ending which was shown in this film. It really felt like it was so lazy and was being done just to have an ending of the movie. It was a questionable ending.

OVERALL

TRUTH OR DARE had a lot of potential of being a good horror film. All the materials were there, it was just a matter of having a proper execution of it. The lazy writings, the bland performances from the actors, and the cheap jump scares were the things I had a problem with about the film.
