ANNIHILATION (O-RVZ MOVIE REVIEW)

It’s a scifi-mystery film about a town that was hit by a thing that caused the phenomena that they called “The Shimmer” where it slowly mutating all the living beings inside of it. It starred Natalie Portman as “Lena” a biologist who sought answers of his husband played by Oscar Isaac as “Kane” that got assigned to investigate the incident. To start off, the entire premise of the movie sounds so intriguing and interesting. It’s a mysterious film that deals with mutated animals and such and you wondered what else is happening inside of “The Shimmer”. The movie then slowly began to explore the area and this is where the intensity kicks in. So many things that had happened when they were inside of that place and all I could say that it was intense, gory and shit really went down there. Right through the last part of this film, things got even weirder and stranger as soon as they discovered the cause of this event. That exact moment of the film was really weird for me that I was having a hard time understanding what was going on. Nonetheless, it’s still a scifi film and things in a Science-Fiction film hardly explains it all.

OVERALL

ANNIHILATION is one of those films that it’s good but weird that I wouldn’t want to watch it a second time around. What I loved about this film is the mysteriousness surrounding it, the amazing performances from the casts, haunting music & scores and the thrills with a unique and weird yet good storyline.
