Ant-Man and the Wasp is the newest film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The twentieth film of the entire MCU and the sequel to the first Ant-Man (2015) film. Peyton Reed returns to direct this sequel with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily returning as the titular characters. All the other supporting characters from the first film return as well on this sequel with newer characters being introduced. It's been a few months already since we witnessed the ever heart-breaking film which was the Avengers Infinity War. It's somewhat been confirmed that the plot of this sequel happens before the event of the Infinity War. It's indeed a good change of pace from watching a very dark and heavy film which was the Infinity War to this happy and light-hearted film. I can still remember when I watched the first Ant-Man, I was truly in awe of the special effects of Ant-Man's Powers. The way how he changes sizes from small to big was pleasing to the eyes. This time, they kicked it up a notch. They really maximize the powers of Ant-Man & The Wasp not only in a very good & technical way but also in a very funny way. I really had a good time watching this film. There were tons of funny moments from the first film but this sequel truly had me dying from laughter. There are so many fun and memorable moments of this film and I can truly tell that this is even funnier from the first film. The villain in this sequel though is good, not great but also not terrible. I don't consider her a true villain because of her motives which I won't spoil here but she's not much of a memorable villain much in the reigns of Loki, Killmonger, and Thanos. I also can't deny that this film also suffers from a pacing issue. There was this scene right in the middle of the film where it instantly jumps to a whole new scene which I find unnecessarily to do. They could have just shown us a few minutes of what they did right after that specific moment from the first scene but instead, they just jump right off onto the next scene. It's really not that big of a deal but it is there in the film and I didn't like that part. Still, it doesn't really take down the enjoyment of this film and I still enjoyed much of it.

OVERALL

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is a much-needed change after the heavy conclusion of the Infinity War. This film is not all about world domination or finger snapping wiping half the population of the universe. Rather, it's somewhat a personal film between the characters and it just a small scale in terms of the storyline. This film is bright, funny and an enjoyable film to watch. This is all thanks to the amazing and charismatic performances of Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily. They sure are a power couple and I couldn't wait to see more of their adventures together. Ant-Man and the Wasp deserves a quantum-filled energy of a YES ! By the way, they did show some connections from the Infinity War storyline so better stay at the end of the credits. Well, you knew this already if you're a MCU film fan.
