BRAVEN (O-RVZ MOVIE REVIEW)

It's an action-thriller film directed by Lin Oeding which stars Jason Momoa. Jason plays Joe Braven, a family man who's working in a logging company and it follows a story in which his family got into trouble with some of the drug dealers. The movie really shows of the dramatic side of Jason Momoa. He's been playing characters that are strong warriors or superheroes and this film really shows that he can play a vulnerable ordinary man who's just fighting for the safety of his family. His performances cleared my doubt about him playing a one-dimensional character. He was very good in this film and I would totally want to see more of him taking this kind of a role. In terms of its story, it's something more reminiscing to the Taken movies. The good thing about this is that you could truly fear about the safety of the main character. Also, the movie sets in a snowy mountainous region somewhere in Canada and I like some of the aerial shots showing the beautiful landscape of it. The characters were properly written which each one of them played an important role in the movie. The villain to our main character is somewhat intimidating but he didn't have anything to add more to the story other than being the bad guy. The action scenes were good and I like that they kinda put some emphasis of Joe Braven's character as a hunter/tracker as he sets up some traps to defeat the criminals trying to kill his family.

OVERALL

BRAVEN is quite a good film that offers some thrills, action and drama. I liked the story between Joe and his father trying to recoup their relationship. I like Jason Momoa's take on the character. He plays it so genuinely good and it's refreshing to see him do this kind of a role. I like the overall storyline of this film. It talks about family and what a father would do for the safety of his family. It's a movie that certainly surprised me even how small scale the story is.
