Crazy Rich Asians is a romantic comedy movie directed by Jon M. Chu and star Constance Wu and Henry Golding. The plotline of the movie revolves around a Chinese-American woman who meets a guy in New York. Unbeknownst to her, the guy that he met is one of the richest family in Singapore. It's a fun enjoyable movie that shows how crazy rich Asians are. They really established that thought at the first opening scene in which how crazy rich Young's family are. The storyline of this movie is not that we usually see with other rom-coms. It's not about a damsel-in-distress type of situation in which the prince will have to save the day to get her princess but instead, we get a story about a girl fighting for her place and fighting for what she believes is right. This story reminded a bit of Cinderella's story in which the mother of Nick Young played by Michelle Yeoh who is the step-mother of the Cinderella, Nick Young is the prince, Awkwafina's role as the fairy grandmother and Rachel Wu as Cinderella. Awkwafina's role as the college best friend of Rachel really stole the damn show. She was really great from it and every time she was on screen, lots of laughs literally burst from my mouth. The character certainly worked on how Awkwafina made it and it's not so over-the-top kind of comedy that cringes you or anything. I may have a bit of a problem during the first half of the film. It felt to me that the progression of the story was kinda slow and there was never really going on to kept me focusing on the film. However, when it reaches that certain point from the second half, that's where the drama and bad blood starts and it just kept me focused from there on.

OVERALL
CRAZY RICH ASIAN is a good romantic-comedy-drama film that is entertaining and at the same time contains a valuable lesson about family and love. I did enjoy myself watching this movie for the most part of it and it certainly has this serious moment that you can't just help yourself but become teary-eyed from it. It's definitely one of the best films of 2018 that I've seen so far and it's definitely one of the recent good rom-com films that I have seen.
