Peter Rabbit is a live-action/computer-animated comedy film directed by Will Gluck and is based on a children stories "Peter Rabbit" created by Beatrix Potter. It stars Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne playing Thomas McGregor and Bea, the human characters of the movie. The movie has some of the famous names lending their voices for the computer-generated animal characters such as James Corden as the titular character, Daisy Ridley, Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki and many more. The plot revolves around Peter Rabbit and with his other rabbit families trying to recover the land that they naturally owned against Thomas McGregor who inherited the land after his great-uncle died of a heart attack.
I am quite surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I have never ever read any of those children stories about Peter Rabbit and I thought that this movie was going to be a dumb and silly one after watching the trailer of it. The movie has more to offer honestly. It was fun and it was quite a charm especially watching the romantic dynamic between Domhnall and Rose characters. I have never felt so much excitement from any other Romantic movies out there other than this one and this isn't even a romantic movie. There's something between these 2 human characters that I really really liked which made it easy for me to buy their love story. Feels also weird that I didn't quite like the Peter Rabbit character. Though the movie surrounds around him, I just didn't like the character and sometimes I just find him annoying. The movie kinda reminded me of a modern take of "Home Alone" with all the booby traps involved. I just find it amusing and funny at the same time and I just laughed my ass-off with some of those sequences. The setting is also beautifully well-lit. It is set in a countryside location with all those amazing rural landscapes and scenes filled with bright colors was just a pleasant on the eyes. The CGI of the animals were not overdone as well. It didn't weird seeing them when being put beside the real human characters. I also liked how they added a different variation of some of the old and new popular pop songs.

OVERALL
PETER RABBIT may be intended for kids but I had a good time watching it. It was indeed fun seeing the rabbits going all out against Domhnall Gleeson's character with all those booby traps. The movie kinda reminded me of Home Alone with its Slapstick style. Some of them were really really funny as hell. I also loved the romantic side of it between Thomas and Bea. I wished it was a different movie which focused more on their love story but this movie is'nt about that which is a bummer but Domhnall and Rose certainly have that chemistry. It's just a very charming and light movie which surprised the hell out of me for my enjoyment of it.
