Sorry to Bother You is dark-comedy movie that stars Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Terry Crews, Steven Yeun, Armie Hammer and many other prominent actors. The story follows of a young African-American man named Cassius Green played by Lakeith Stanfield who applied for a position in a telemarketing company and must adopt a "white voice" or "white accent" for him to have a successful career. This is written and directed by Boots Riley in his first directorial debut. This movie may not be for everybody's taste. The overall storyline of this movie is weird yet some parts of it really resembled our day to day life. It's weird because the settings of this movie set in a real-life situation in which the main character "Cassius Green" has to thrive and survive his new job just like we do and when we get to the end part of this movie, it has this crazy and weird plot twist. You could say that I didn't expect that development of the story but anyway I did buy it. I buy it because I relate to the character. Sometimes, we just can't escape doing all the things that can make you successful even though they are against your principles. It was presented really well by this character played by Lakeith Stanfield and his performance of that movie was just phenomenal. I admit that I was about to stop watching during the first half. I find it quite boring and feels that the development of the story takes too long to develop but thank God I stayed all throughout because this movie is very original, interesting and has a very surprising weird plot twist. I loved the characters of this film, they were not so-so and really written to have a purpose of the story. Everyone was great in their performances. I also liked the use of music scores. They were various beats and rhythms that I could hear from the background which also helped the tone of the movie. The idea of this movie is quite ambitious and when you think about it, it really is hard to pull off. But the staff and the director behind it really took time to give details and they managed to pull it off.

OVERALL
SORRY TO BOTHER YOU is one of the interesting movies that came out this year. It may not be for everybody. It's a genuine movie that has this thought-provoking themes that are really relatable to our current day to day life. It's not something that I would really recommend for everybody but if you're a fan of film and a fan of art, this is something that you would truly appreciate.
