It's a film directed by the Visionary Director Guillermo Del Torro famously known for Hellboy and Pacific Rim. It's a story about Elisa, a cleaner of a highly classified facility and a humanoid water creature that got caught and kept inside that facility. The entire premise of the film is oddly intriguing. Intriguing in a way that it involves a humanoid water creature that exactly resembles Abe Sapien from the Hellboy series having a potential story about a monster movie or a fantasy movie and Oddly because it's also romantic film. It was weird seeing some romantic scenes between the two but as the story progresses you get used to it. The make-up done on the creature was incredible. You could tell how Del Torro fascinates the monsters by the way it was designed and by the way he constructed backstory to it. The casts involved were great. Sally Hawkins playing Elisa as mute, was truly exceptional. Her emotions truly reflected by her performances using his body movement and eyes. Michael Shannon playing the Head Security, the captor of the creature, was menacing and delivered high intensity into his character. Lastly, the story is genuine and beautiful. It tells a story about love that comes in any form, any sizes, and any shapes.

OVERALL
THE SHAPE OF WATER is a great film with talented casts, amazing scores, and beautiful storyline. The special effects and make-up done on the monster was really fascinating to see. You kinda get grossed-out at the beginning due to the romantic story between the monster and Elisa but as the story progresses, we get to discover more about the creature and about the film and eventually you get used to it. It's a genuinely good film and one of those rare films that will truly connects to the audiences.
