Upgrade is a science-fiction horror movie that follows a man implanted with an artificial intelligent chip that allows him to control back his body after he has been paralyzed. It stars Logan Marshall-Green (from Spiderman: Homecoming and Alien Covenant) and produced by Blumhouse production company who also produced related mind-bending horror films such as Get Out and Split. What I can say is that this movie is really something else. Part of it reminded me with Venom as I watched this film. Maybe its because the actor, Logan who has a huge resemblance from Tom Hardy and both of their characters has this thing going on from them. It is a very well thought-out movie and at this Digital Age, it is something that really relates to us. The first half of it is all about the set-up of the story. It feels slow but when you get to this certain point from the movie, it just keeps going on. Surprisingly, it's also a fast-paced movie with good action sequences that I wasn't really expecting. What I liked about this film is that it really engages you all through-out of it. I didn't feel bored and didn't feel any idling moments from any of the scenes, for the second half of it anyway. I also liked how they added some extra humor to it between the characters. It's a nice addition and they have not overdone it with too many jokes. Yes, this is a dark movie with a R-rating. It's filled with violence, blood, and gory scenes and it just added some intensity and thrills of the film. I did also mention that it is a horror film. It's not your typical horror film that is involved with monsters, ghosts or demons. Oh no, we're talking about something that is in reality now. Something that we've already been using and something that is highly possible to have. It's really these high technologies that we currently have. It's something that is so useful to all people and just a bit of intelligence to it, it might end up something that is terrifying.

OVERALL
UPGRADE is really a good damn movie. It's a well thought-out movie, very sleek and very fast paced. It's unique, intense and thrilling having a story that is relatable at this Digital Age and something that we really need to think and check before we end up with something else. I really admired stories like these and I would say that good Horror movie doesn't need any jump scares or terrifying demons or monsters. It just needs a very compelling storyline that will leave you horrified.
